I have all my email messages archived in Mimecast. I'd like to find all messages from a certain user between February 2009 and March 2011.
Follow along if you'd like, trust me, you'll have as much fun as I have been having!
Open up Mimecast App on the Mac. Go to Advanced Search. Click on the Date Drop down. Click on Between Dates.
Now, here's the fun part. Click the little "<" arrow button 91 times to reverse the calendar back to February 2009. No, you heard that right. There's no text entry there, you gotta click the little "<" arrow to rewind the dates.
Next, lets do the same thing to the To: calendar, and use the little "<" button and click it 66 times. Great, you're almost ready!
Click on the search button. Strange, nothing came up? Better check the search results, maybe I typed the person's name wrong.
Go back to Refine and WHAT? Those stupid calendars are back to showing "September 2015" and "September 2016" and you have to click those little < buttons another 91 + 66 times because when you rewound all the way back to Feb 2009, you forgot to actually select a DAY in that calendar list. Guess your fingers were too tired after clicking 91 times, so now you get to do it again!
Who thought of this design? It's not new, it's been like this for years. Why can't we simply type in the dates we want to search by when using Advanced Find instead of clicking like a maniac on a little calendar?
