This article outlines the steps to resolve instances where a custom User Interface error occurs when Microsoft Outlook is in debug mode.

Symptoms

 

When interacting with Mimecast for Outlook controls, the following runtime error is displayed:

Resolution

 

This may occur when UI errors are enabled for debugging purposes in Outlook. This error can be ignored as it has no impact on the operation of Mimecast for Outlook or Microsoft Outlook.

 

Follow the steps outlined below to suppress UI error messages:

  1. In Microsoft Outlook click the File | Options menu item.
  2. Click on the Advanced menu item.
  3. Scroll to the Developers section.
  4. Deselect the Show add-in user interface errors option:

  5. Click the OK button.
