Mimecast strives to continually innovate and evolve our solutions in order to provide customers with richer functionality and more robust products.

Apple iOS 6 is being retired as a supported operating system for Mimecast products. This article explains what Apple iOS 6 retirement means to current customers who have Mimecast products installed on this operating system.

What is the impact?

Version 2.5 of the Mimecast Mobile, released in January 2015, is the last supported version for devices running Apple iOS 6. Additionally, the end-of-support date for Apple iOS 6 is 26th January 2016.

This means that on that date, Mimecast will stop providing support for our software on Apple mobile devices running Apple iOS 6. The earliest supported OS will be Apple iOS 7.

This means that:

  • Mobile devices running Apple iOS 6 will no longer receive automatic upgrades to the Mimecast Mobile app.
  • There will be no supported path to upgrade existing installations of the Mimecast Mobile app on Apple iOS 6 after version 2.5 of Mimecast Mobile.
  • After the end of support date, our Mimecast Support team can no longer guarantee assistance with issues arising from your use of the Mimecast Mobile app on Apple iOS 6.
  • After the end of support date, Mimecast cannot guarantee that our products will operate without issues on Apple iOS 6.

When will this happen?

This change will take affect from 27th April 2015.
