Managing Stationery Branding Sets

This guide describes how to configure a stationery branding set that can be applied to a notification set. 


What You'll Need


You'll need to prepare the branding elements prior to the creation of the branding. The following corporate branding elements are needed:

  • Your company name, as you want it to display in your branded portal.
  • A name to prefix your branded portal.
  • Your primary corporate colors (optional).
  • Your corporate logo (optional).
  • Mobile Icon (optional)
  • A favicon for use in browser address bars, history, and bookmarks (optional).
  • Text to add as a disclaimer on the login page (optional).


Creating a Branding Set


To create a branding set:

  1. Log on to the Administration Console.
  2. Click on the Administration toolbar button. A drop-down menu is displayed.
  3. Click on the Stationery | Branding menu item.
    If this menu item is not available, contact your Account Manager to see if Branding is included in your current service subscription.
  4. Click the New Branding Set button to display the Branding Set configuration dialog.
  5. Complete the dialog as follows:

    Field / OptionDescription
    Branding Set NameSpecify a name for the branding set.
    Company Display NameSpecify the name of your company as you want it to be displayed in the branding set.
    URL PrefixSpecify a prefix that forms the first part of the URL used to access Mimecast. A separate page must be created for each customer. This is especially important for MSPs. For example, a URL prefix of "mypage" in North America will result in a URL of where:
    • "mypage" is typically the company name.
    • "login-country" is the sub-domain (e.g. login-na).
    Once the URL Prefix has been saved, it cannot be changed. Click Check Availability to ensure the prefix's availability. Ensure you only specify a URL Prefix valid for your company and intended for a live deployment. The following prefixes cannot be used:
    • -console
    • -ccm
    • -lfs
    • -login
    • -mimecast
    • -mpp
    • -sm
  6. In the Common Elements section, specify your corporate colors.
    Use the built in branding examples to help select the right color for your needs.
  7. In the Logos section, specify your company logo. Follow the guidance on screen to ensure you use the correct file size, file type, and dimensions.
    Note the Logo Guide on the right hand side.
  8. In the Log In Page section, add any Disclaimer Title and Disclaimer Body. Additionally, you can add Custom Links. For example, instead of "Contact Support", this could be renamed "Disclaimer" with a URL link to the company's more detailed disclaimer information. If no information is added to any of the fields, the Mimecast default names and links are used.
  9. Click the Save button.
  10. Click the Preview Logon Page and Preview Inbox Page buttons to preview your changes.
  11. Click the Go Back button to return to the Branding Definition.
  12. Click the Save and Exit button to save the definition.

The branded Portal sites are now available for use using your unique URL, although there may be a delay before these changes are visible due to caching.

Mimecast automatically decolorizes the background and button colors when creating a new Branding Definition.

Enabling / Disabling a Branding Set


Branding Set ListWhen a branding set is first configured, it is in a disabled state. The icon displayed to the left of the record signifies it's state.


To enable a branding set:

  1. Right click on the branding set.
  2. Click on the Enable Branding Set menu item.


To disable the branding set (e.g. when rebranding your Mimecast Personal Portal site):

  1. Right click on the branding set.
  2. Click on the Disable Branding Set menu item.


Viewing your Branding


To view your branding set:

  1. Log on to the Administration Console.
  2. Click on the Administration toolbar button. A drop-down menu is displayed.
  3. Click on the Stationery | Branding menu item.
  4. Select your Branding Set to load the configuration page.
  5. In a browser tab, navigate to the URL specified in the Branded URL field.
