Stationery Layouts: Configuring HTML Components

All email messages are created in both HTML and plain text. Consequently each Stationery Layout is also created in both formats. The HTML version can be configured with multiple clickable components. These components are usually included to enhance the look and feel of an email signature, or to promote specific products or services.

 

 

Configuring HTML Components

 

There are three types of components you can configure:

Click LinkThis is a text message which can be support a click through. This is typically used for website links.<MC Type=clicklink code=name>
Text BlockThis is a block of text (e.g. a disclaimer). There is no click through supported by this component.<MC Type=rawtext code=name>

 

Configuring Image Components

 

To configure image components:

  1. Click on the image placeholder (a yellow rectangle) to display the Component Administration page, and configure the fields described below:

    Field / OptionDescription
    DescriptionSpecify a name or a description for the image.
    Click Track Type

    This selection menu provides the following options to define what type of tracking should occur when the image is clicked in the email:

    • Predefined Tracking Action: A predefined action that should take place when the image is clicked. Use the Lookup button to select the Action.
    • Direct Link to Internet URL (No Tracking): Redirects the user to a URL when the image is clicked. The click statistics are not retained. With this option selected, a URL field is displayed allowing you to specify a full URL (e.g. http://www.website.com).
    • Direct Link to Micro Site: Redirects the user to a Micro Site. With this option selected, click the Lookup button to select the Micro Site.
    • Static Image (No Tracking, No Click-through): Displays the image with no clickable action or tracking. When this option is selected, the remaining fields in this Click Tracking Options section are removed.
    Alt TextProvides alternative text that is displayed when the user hovers their mouse pointer over the image.
    Assigned ImageUse the Lookup button to select the image to be used. Once the image is selected, the image size is displayed.
  2. Click the Save and Exit button.

 

Configuring Text Block Components

 

To configure text clock components:

  1. Click on the Text Block component.
  2. Add a Description for the component.
  3. Complete the text to be displayed.
  4. Click the Save and Exit button.

HTML content can be utilized in this component.

Configuring Clickable Links

 

To configure clickable link components:

  1. Click on the component.
  2. Complete the fields as described below:

    Field / OptionDescription
    DescriptionSpecify a name or a description for the image.
    Click Track Type
