This guidance is outdated and has been superseded by the content in the Single Sign-On (SSO) space.

This guide will explain how to configure Mimecast SAML Authentication using Safenet as an Identity provider.

Configuring SafeNet

A new entities must be created for each of the Mimecast applications you want to use SAML Authentication for.

 

  1. Once logged into the SafeNet console, click on the Comms tab and select SAML 2.0 Settings under the SAML Service Providers section:

  2. Next, create a new Entity ID by clicking the Add button. The current section will expand to display the available options.
  3. The relevant fields must be completed as follows (only the required fields have been listed below):

    Custom Login Header TextEnter text to be used in the communication headers, e.g. Mimecast 2FA AuthenticationEnter text to be used in the communication headers, e.g. Mimecast 2FA AuthenticationEnter text to be used in the communication headers, e.g. Mimecast 2FA Authentication
  4. Click the Apply button to generate the new certificate.
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 above for each Mimecast application.
