Mimecast Mobile for Windows Phone provides the ability to perform Mimecast Archive Searches, and access to access your current emails in your Online Inbox and Online Sent Items.  By default, 25 items will be displayed per page.

 

Online Inbox

To view the Online Inbox from the main Search page, swipe your finger to the left moving from the Search page to the Inbox page.

 

Swiping to the right will bring you back to the Search page. Alternately, swiping to the left again will bring you to the Saved Search page. Continuing to swipe in that direction will take you back to the Search page.

 

The Online Inbox displays received emails within your mailbox, and fetches batches of emails up to 100 at a time based on what is set in your preferences.  As you scroll to the bottom of the Inbox messages that have been retrieved, the next set of messages is automatically retrieved from the Mimecast service.

 

Attachment handling

Mimecast Services for Windows Phone does not support viewing attachments on the phone.

 

Online sent items

To view the Online Sent Items click the [Sent Items] label on the Inbox page. This will result in the Inbox list being replaced by the Sent Items. Click the [Inbox] label to switch back to the Online Inbox. Online Sent Items displays emails sent from your mailbox, and similar to the Online Inbox, fetches messages up to 100 at a time based on your preferences.  As you scroll to the bottom of the Inbox messages that have been retrieved the next set of messages is automatically retrieved from the Mimecast service.

 

Responding to messages

Use the Forward, Reply or Reply All buttons  to take the appropriate action on the email you are viewing. 

When emails are sent from Mimecast Mobile for Windows Phone, you will be given the choice of which local mail account on the Windows Phone is used to transmit the messages. This means that emails may be transmitted through a different account other than the corporate email account, and is dependent on the mail accounts configured on the device and which you choose.  In most instances, the device should already have a mail account for the email address configured in Mimecast Mobile for Windows Phone, so as to allow you to compose normal emails from the device and transmit them through Mimecast. This can be achieved with an Exchange account.

 

If emails are transmitted through a different account, they may bypass Mimecast entirely, and therefore not be present within the email Archive for records retention purposes.

It is important to note that if you choose to reply or forward an email retrieved from the Archive search, the mail will be sent using the mail account configured on the device.  This may mean that the account is not a corporate email address.  If your phone contains multiple email accounts, then it is possible to choose a different 'FROM' account prior to sending the message.
