Mimecast Mobile for BlackBerry can be installed in two ways:
- Using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
- Your Administrator can push the app to your device from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES).
These are guidelines for the installation of the app on your BlackBerry device (OS 4, 5, 6, 7), but as these procedures are generic to any BlackBerry application, any support or queries regarding the installation should be directed to BlackBerry support.
Rebooting the Device
Following the successful installation of the application, the BlackBerry device will need to be manually rebooted via a hard reset. This requires the battery to be removed, while the BlackBerry device is powered on. Hold the battery out for about 30 seconds, and replace. The BlackBerry device will reboot.
Following the reboot, a new menu option is now available within the Options | Third Party Applications list, called Mimecast Services for BlackBerry.
Configuring your email address
Once the app has been installed and you have rebooted your device, and email is delivered to your Inbox to let you know that your credentials need to be configured.
Your Administrators must ensure that the appropriate permissions have been assigned to your account in order to use Mimecast Mobile for BlackBerry.
