Mimecast has many features which can result in the alteration of an email message. For example the addition of:

  • Stationery Layouts
  • Address Alteration
  • Attachment stripping and linking
  • Document Policies
  • Scan Settings Policy (if using this policy to tag headers).

In some cases, the Administrator may choose to ensure that a particular email is never altered by these policies. To achieve this, an Email Alteration Bypass policy can be configured. This email will still be Archived, however it will not have any of the above policies applied.

Content Examination and Attachment Hold policies will not be bypassed.

What you need

  • An Administrator Console logon with access to the Administration | Gateway | Policies menu item.
