A domain is a unique identifier that defines administrative control within the internet and is subject to the rules of the Domain Name System (DNS).

In the context of email, a service such as the Mimecast Gateway or Microsoft Exchange uses DNS MX resource records to locate the correct server to send email messages.

Before your organization can start sending, receiving, and archiving email with Mimecast you will need to add your email domains to your service.
