Authenticating Mimecast for Outlook

You must install the Mimecast for Outlook add on to your Microsoft Outlook application to use its features. Once , you must authenticate your logon with us. Your administrator defines the authentication method you can use. This can be:

  • Automatic: You continue using Microsoft Office as normal.
  • Manual: A dialog is displayed when you start Microsoft Outlook requiring you to enter your credentials.

Your administrator may have defined more than one authentication method. Read the Mimecast for Outlook: Integrated Windows Authentication (IWA) Connectivity page for more details.

To check on the authentication methods your administrator has defined:

  1. Select the Mimecast ribbon.
  2. Select the Account Options icon in the General section. The Authentication Settings dialog is displayed:

  3. Select an option.
  4. Enter your password.
