This article outlines how to resolve an issue where Mimecast Mobile v3.1 or v3.2 on Android devices doesn't respond to touchscreen input.
- Mimecast Mobile v3.1 or v3.2 on Android.
- Android devices with native features, or 3rd party software, that use "transparent overlays" that obscure Mimecast Mobile.
End users on the Android platform using Mimecast Mobile v3.1 or v3.2, may experience the inability to interact with Mimecast Mobile. This has been reported when:
- Entering a passcode to access Mimecast Mobile.
- Entering account details when attempting to add an account.
- Accessing messages.
Mimecast Mobile on Android uses a native Android touch filtering mechanism to improve the security of views that provide access to sensitive functionality. This discards touches received when the view's window is obscured by another visible window (this may be transparent). This function is implemented as a security measure against "ClickJacking".
Upgrade to Mimecast Mobile v3.2.1 for Android. For v3.1 or v3.2 remove any 3rd party software, or disable any native functions, that use "transparent overlays". Potential software / functions that may cause this issue, control the color and brightness of your screen.
