Versions 7.0.x to 7.1.x

To apply branding to the Mimecast for Outlook client requires you to:

  • Obtain the URL Prefix from a branding set.
  • Apply the branding set to the Mimecast for Outlook client.

Obtaining the URL Prefix

To obtain the URL Prefix from a branding set:

  1. Log in to the Administration Console.
  2. Click on the Administration toolbar button. A menu drop down is displayed.
  3. Click on the Stationery | Branding menu item. A list of branding sets is displayed.
  4. Click on the desired Branding Set. The branding set is displayed.
  5. Copy the value from the URL Prefix field to your clipboard.

Applying the Branding Set to Mimecast for Outlook

To apply the branding set to Mimecast for Outlook:

  1. Create a custom Mimecast for Outlook .MSI file. See the Mimecast for Outlook Configuration Tool page for full details.
  2. Navigate to the Install and Update tab.
  3. Click the Override option in the "Branding Options" section.
  4. Paste in the URL Prefix value from your branding set. See the Example section below.
In Mimecast for Outlook Configuration Tool version 7.0.1762.17740, the label for the "URL Prefix" is incorrectly labeled as "Update URL". This will be updated in a future release.

This functionality is due to be incorporated into a future Administration Console release, removing the requirement to use the Mimecast for Outlook Configuration Tool to apply branding to Mimecast for Outlook.

Example

A common misconception when applying a branding set URL Prefix is to use the entire URL. Only the prefix is required. If the full URL is:

xxxxxx.login-us.mimecast_dot_com

The prefix to apply to the URL Prefix field is just:

xxxxxx
