This guide describes how to add and remove tags to or from messages that form part of a discovery case.

 

Tags are defined by an administrator when creating a discovery case. You can add them to a message to add further context, information, categorization, or identification during a review. For example to enable:

  • Another reviewer or outside counsel to review them.
  • You to follow up on a message later.
If a tag is removed from the discovery case, it is also automatically removed from any message where the tag was applied during a review.

Applies To...

 

  • Users assigned to review messages captured as part of a discovery case.
  • Where tags have been added to a discovery case by the administrator. If no tags have been added, this feature is unavailable.

Adding tags to a message

To add / remove tags to / from a message:

  1. Select the Message.
  2. Click on the Tag icon in the message's toolbar. The list of tags is displayed.
    Any tags that are already associated with the message are highlighted.
  3. Click on the Tags to be added / removed.
  4. Click on the Apply button.
You can also remove a single tag from a message by clicking the "X" icon to the right of a tag in a message.

To add / remove tags to / from multiple messages:

  1. Click the Tick Boxes to the left of the messages that you want to tag.
  2. Click on the Tag icon in the message's toolbar. The list of tags is displayed.
    Any tags that are already associated with the message are highlighted.
  3. Click on the Tags to be added or removed.
  4. Click on the Apply button.

Identifying Tagged Messages

 

Tagged Message IndicatorsVisual indicators help you identify whether a message has been tagged:

  • The tag associated with a message is displayed below the message's header. If a message is associated with multiple tags, these are displayed alongside each other.
  • An icon is displayed in the message list. This doesn't show what tags are associated with a message, just that it is associated with at least one tag. To identify the tags, display the message.
