Walkthrough

To add an attachment from the archive to a message:

  1. Create a message as normal.
  2. Attaching a File from the ArchiveClick on the Mimecast ribbon.
  3. Click on the Attach From Archive icon. The Attach File From Archive dialog is displayed.
  4. Enter your Search Criteria. This enables you to find the message containing the file you want to attach.
Click on the Search Attachment Icon icon to limit the search to a specific attachment type.
  5. Press the Enter key, or click on the Search icon icon. A list of results is displayed.
The search process looks for the search string in the message or attachments. If a message has multiple attachments, but only one of them has the search criteria in it, all the message's attachments are returned. It is not possible to indicate which of the attachments caused the message to be included in the search results.
  6. Either select:
    1. A single message. This option allows you to:
      • View the message's details.
      • Click on the Preview button to display the attachment before attaching it to the message.
    2. Multiple messages. This option:
      • Doesn't allow you to view the message detail or preview the attachments.
      • Adds all attachments in the archived message to your message. You cannot choose which attachments to add.
  7. Click on the Attach button. The file is attached to your message.
  8. Click on the Send button.
