This guide describes how administrators can schedule a campaign to be sent to a group of users.

A Mimecast Awareness Training campaign is a training module sent to a specific group of users (e.g. a department, users with a lower phishing score). It differs from a scheduled training module, which is sent to all your users. By allowing you to target specific groups of users, you can ensure those requiring additional user awareness training are identified and sent relevant training materials.

Once a user has completed a campaign, users do not have access to the knowledge question or custom content.

The following considerations must be taken into account when scheduling a campaign:

  • There is no limit to the number of campaigns you can have.
  • A group of users must be created for you to schedule the campaign to.
  • Campaigns don't include sentiment questions
  • Statistics from campaigns don't form part of the Dashboard or Performance analytics.

Scheduling a Campaign

By default, a total of 14 modules and / or campaigns can be scheduled at one time. Should your requirements need more than 14, additional modules can be added to your account. Speak to your Mimecast Account Manager for further details.

When you first logon to Mimecast Awareness Training, the campaign queue is empty, meaning no training modules will be sent to groups of users. All the modules (including any Custom Modules you've added) can be scheduled in a campaign except for the "Training Overview" module. This module is left in the module queue for users who want to take a refresher on why user awareness training is important.

Launch a CampaignTo schedule a campaign:

  1. Display your Module Queue.
  2. Hover over the Module Image.
  3. Click on the Launch button.
If a module is already part of a campaign, the "In Campaign" button is displayed.
  4. Complete the Add Campaign dialog as follows:
    Field / OptionDescription
NameEnter a name for your campaign (e.g. GDPR Awareness Training).
Group NameSelect a group of users from the dropdown list. These are the users who'll receive the training module.
Launch DateClick in the field to display a calendar from which you can select a start date for the campaign. You:
    • Can't schedule a start date over a weekend.
    • Can have more than one campaign scheduled on the same day.
We recommend selecting a date in the future that allows you to visit and amend the campaign should it be required. Once a campaign is launched, the schedule can't be changed.
  5. Click on the Create button. The module is added to the scheduled campaign queue.

Amending a Campaign

You can amend a campaign once it's been created, but only if the campaign's launch date hasn't been reached. This is signified by the "Pending" flag in the campaign listing.
