Custom modules are currently only available to Mimecast Awareness Training customers using the non-MimeOS application. Mimecast Awareness Training customers using the MimeOS are currently unable to use the custom module functionality. If you're in doubt about which OS you're using, contact our Support team.

This guide describes how you can upload their own custom module content to the Mimecast Awareness Training platform. This allows you to upload your own educational video, video poster, and knowledge questions. Once there they can be:

  • Scheduled as part of one or more campaign. There is no limit to the number of campaigns a module can be added to.
  • Sent to all employees. There is no restriction on the number of employees.
Up to four custom modules can be created each year with the base license. Contact your Account Manager for more details on additional custom module slots.

A custom module:

  • Cannot be scheduled as part of the module queue.
  • Does not issue reminder notifications.
  • Results:
    • Are self contained in the campaign window.
    • Include answers to all the knowledge questions on a per user basis.
    • Do not impact the user or company risk scores.

To create a custom module you'll need:

  • The awareness training content in either an:
    • .MP4 file of no more than 125 MB in size.
    • .PDF file of no more than 10 MB in size.
  • A .PNG, .JPG, .GIF, or .BMP file of no more than 5 MB in size to act as a movie poster. This is what the administrator and users see when the module is listed in the dashboard and user library.
