I would like to suggest a change to the bulk permission update tool. Looking at the tool available under Directories > Internal > Bulk Permission Update allows me to only enable or disable permissions and apply this to all users. However, it would be better to have 3 options, enable, disable and leave as is.
In my domain, some users have different permissions than other users. For example, the blackberry users have mobile search and mobile continuity enabled.
Now, say I want to make sure all my users have web login, how would I apply this all users without affecting the mobile search and continuity permission? I have to select either enable and disable. I'm either going to turn off mobile search and continuity for all users, or turn it on (likely violating my license).
Having a 'leave as is' option would only overwrite the specific permissions I chose to apply. The other permissions could be left untouched.
I have attached a screenshot of the tool
Apologies for the late response! We somehow missed this post.
I like your idea, and will suggest it to the Product Management team at Mimecast.
In the interim, you are able to use a spreadsheet import to achieve the same objective - if data is not provided in the spreadsheet, we do not overwrite existing permissions in Mimecast. So in effect, the import is an append type of process, which only updates the changes that you specify in the spreadsheet itself.
