Managing security integrations shouldn't be complex. Yet many organizations tell us they're unable to easily navigate multiple interfaces and determine integration statuses within Mimecast. We heard you, and today we're excited to introduce the Integration Hub — our new unified section within the AdCon that simplifies how you manage integrations with Mimecast.
Mimecast's New Approach to Integration Management
The Integration Hub transforms how you oversee your Mimecast integrations. We designed it with an emphasis on operational efficiency and clear visibility. It offers a unified view of all your API and Service Integrations, including both current and upcoming implementations. Real-time status indicators provide immediate insights into the health of your integrations, while direct links to technical resources ensure you have essential information readily available.
The Integration Hub enables you to search for all integrations supported by Mimecast. Depending on your purchased product, you may discover that some integrations are not available for configuration. We provide a "learn more" link that allows you to trial or purchase these products from Mimecast.
We've designed the Integration Hub to accommodate all integration-related capabilities within Mimecast. It provides seamless access, exploration, configuration and management of all available integrations. You can now easily monitor the status of each integration while maintaining high security standards to safeguard customer data and adhere to relevant regulations. Access control measures, such as role-based access control (RBAC) and purchase verification checks, ensure that integration management remains limited to authorized users with the necessary product permissions.
The Integration Hub delivers three key benefits:
- Streamlined Operational Efficiency: The unified interface eliminates the need to navigate multiple pages, giving you a single destination for monitoring, configuring and managing all your integrations.
- Enhanced Integration Visibility: The Integration Hub delivers unprecedented transparency across your security ecosystem by providing a real-time dashboard of all available and configured integrations. This comprehensive view helps you monitor integration health status and take action when required.
- Optimized Resource Utilization: Transform how you leverage your Mimecast investment through integrated capabilities. This means you're not just seeing what's available – you can see every integration Mimecast has to offer and learn more about it.
In future iterations we will be developing search and filter functionalities that will enable you to find integrations by organization, use case, popularity and more. Stay tuned as we continue expanding the Integration Hub's capabilities.
Important Note: The Integration Hub only supports API 2.0 integrations. If you're using API 1.0 integrations, you won't be able to take advantage of the Integration Hub capabilities.
API 1.0 to 2.0 Migration
As we enhance our integration capabilities, we're making major updates to our API infrastructure. Through acquisitions and new products, the need for a more scalable gateway led us to build API 2.0. This new version introduces industry standards, such as OAuth 2.0 authentication and RESTful API endpoints, while simplifying how you connect to Mimecast. API 2.0 provides a single, geographically resilient connectivity point for all of Mimecast, regardless of region or product. API 2.0 introduces almost 100 new capabilities, including:
- Partner account management
- Configuration backup & restore
- Expanded policy management
- Faster access to MTA logs
- Better multi-threading opportunities when obtaining logs
We've announced our intent to end-of-life API 1.0 in two stages:
- End of June 2025: We'll remove the ability to create new API 1.0 apps (existing API 1.0 apps will continue functioning)
- End of 2025: We'll begin expiring API 1.0 keys, requiring all integrations to migrate to API 2.0
Next Steps
Start by reviewing your current integration landscape, particularly identifying any API 1.0 dependencies that need migration. Then explore the new unified dashboard and leverage the enhanced visibility features to optimize your integration strategy.
