I'm excited to announce the rollout of a powerful new feature within Mimecast Community: AI Suggested Answers! This feature complements peer-to-peer contributions: AI Suggested Answers works behind the scenes and only offers results after a question goes unanswered for more than two hours. Please continue sharing your solutions and best practices.
How Does AI Suggested Answers Work?
After posting a question, the AI assistant scans Mimecast Community and Knowledge Hub to find answers based on the keywords in your question.
- The AI provides up to three suggested answers clearly labeled as AI-generated.
- Until accepted, these suggestions are only visible to you.
- If one of the AI-suggested answers solves your question, click Accept Answer. Once accepted, the solution becomes visible to everyone in the thread, transforming your question into a shared, permanent resource for the entire community.
If the suggestions don’t meet your needs, you may dismiss them and wait to see if another Community member provides a better answer.
What Sets AI Suggested Answers Apart?
Federated Search provides a one-to-one benefit (only the searcher sees the results), while AI Suggested Answers operates on a one-to-many model. When an AI-suggested answer is accepted, it becomes a shared solution that everyone in the Community can see and benefit from.
Additionally, the AI does not generate new content or opinions. Instead, it functions as a reliable search tool, pulling information exclusively from Mimecast Community and Knowledge Hub. Every suggested answer includes a link to the original source, ensuring transparency and trustworthiness.

We’ve enabled this feature with flexibility and your control in mind. Community members can opt out: If you’d rather not use AI Suggested Answers, you can disable the feature by clicking on your Profile Picture, then Account & Privacy Settings.
