Large File Send Portal


Accessing attachments sent via Large File Send is achieved via the Large File Send Portal. End users can download their attachments from the portal, and depending on their permissions, can upload their own large files to be shared securely between sender and recipient.

 

While in the Portal users can perform the following tasks:

  • Securely download attachments.
  • Securely upload attachments.
  • Compose a new email message to accompany secure uploads.
  • Set a preferred date and time format.

Mimecast Personal Portal


The Mimecast Personal Portal allows users to send messages and attachments safely and securely with the Large File Send feature.

 

While in the Portal users have access to the following features:

  • Securely upload and send attachments.
  • Manage the expire access to received attachments.
  • Set Large File Send preferences to: 
    • Be notified when the files are accessed.
    • Receive a link to the files.
    • Invite recipients to send large files in return.
    • Use an access key for additional file security.

These features require Mimecast Personal Portal v3.

Mimecast for Outlook


The sending and management of attachments sent using the Large File Send feature is performed via the Mimecast for Outlook application. This ensures that end users are able to keep track of sensitive files that have left your organization without leaving Outlook.

 

Users have access to the following features:

  • Send emails with large attachments via Large File Send manually or via predetermined file size limits.
  • Manage messages sent via Large File Send:
    • Track the status of messages / attachments.
    • Extend or Expire access to attachments.
    • Monitor the read and download counts of attachments.

These features require Mimecast for Outlook 5.2 and later.
