Reseller Portal: Changing a Prospect

Once a prospect has been created, the following actions can be performed on it:

  • Add / change the primary contact / implementation lead
  • Change the address
  • Access quotes and deal registrations
  • Add a quote
  • Change the infrastructure information
  • Add / change notes
  • Add / change contacts

 

To access this functionality:

  1. Click on the Menu button button in the top left hand corner.
  2. Click on the Sales | Prospects menu item. A list of prospects is displayed.
  3. Click on the Prospect to be changed. The prospect record is displayed.

 

Adding / Changing the Primary / Implementation Lead Contact

 

With the prospect displayed:

  1. Click either the Add Contact or Edit Contact link in the relevant section of the prospect:.

  2. Complete the dialog as follows:

    Field / OptionDescription
    Contact RoleThis field is automatically completed with the "Primary Contact" or "Primary Implementation Lead" role.
    First NameComplete the contact's details.
    Last Name
    Email Address
    Phone Number
    Job Title
  3. Click the Submit link.

 

Changing the Prospect's Address

 

With the prospect displayed:

  1. Click either the Edit Address link.
  2. Complete the dialog as required.
  3. Click the Submit link.

 

Approved Deals and QuotesAccess Quotes and Deal Registrations

 

You can access a list of the quotes and deal registrations raised against a prospect. With the prospect record displayed:

  1. Scroll down to, and expand, the Agreements tab.

 

PDF versions of all quotes is also available. To access them:

  1. Click on the Quote PDF Icon icon to the right of the required quote. The Save As dialog is displayed.
  2. Specify a location for the saved file.
  3. Click on the Save button.

 

Adding a Quote

 

You can add a quote for a prospect with it displayed:

  1. Scroll down to the Agreements section.
  2. Click on the Add Quote link below the list of existing quotes and deal registrations.
  3. Complete the quote's details. See the Reseller Portal: Creating a Quote for further details.
  4. Click on the Save Quote button.

 

Changing the Partner's Infrastructure Information

 

To change the prospect's infrastructure information:

  1. Expand the Infrastructure section. The prospect's infrastructure details are displayed.
  2. Click on the Edit Infrastructure link at the bottom of the section.
  3. Change the Company section as required:

    Field / OptionDescription
    Company NameSpecify the company name.
    DomainSpecify the company's primary internal domain.
    Current Mail ServerSelect the company's current email server from the drop down list.
    SectorSelect the company's business sector from the drop down list.
    Company EIN NumberSpecify the company's EIN number (US companies only).
  4. Change the prospect's Shipping Address as required.
  5. Change the Infrastructure section as required:

    Field / OptionDescription
    Migrating ToSelect the mail server the prospect is migrating to from the drop down list.
    Archive SolutionIf the prospect is subscribing to an archiving solution, select their current solution from the drop down list.
    Continuity SolutionIf the prospect is subscribing to an continuity solution, select their current solution from the drop down list.
    Security (AV/ AS)If the prospect's is subscribing to a security solution, select their current solution from the drop down list.
    Main RequirementSelect the prospect's main Mimecast requirement from the drop down list.
    MX Records Held ByEnter the company who hosts the MX records for the prospect's primary internal domain.
    Project Close DateSpecify the projected close date for the project.
    Renewal DateSpecify the renewal date for the project.
    WebEx DateSpecify the webex date for the project.
  6. Click on the Submit button.

 

Adding / Changing Notes

 

Notes are automatically created when a deal registration or quote is created, but you can add your own.

 

Add / Edit Notes

To add / edit a note:

  1. Expand the Notes section.
  2. Either click on the
    • Add Note link to add a note.
    • Edit to change a note.
  3. Add / change your note text.
  4. Click on the Submit button.

 

Adding / Changing Prospect Contacts

 

Prospect's ConatctsContacts are automatically created when Primary Contact or Implementation Lead contact is added to a prospect, but you can add your own.

 

To add / change a contact:

  1. Expand the Contacts section.
  2. Either click on the:
    • Add Contact link to add a contact.
    • Edit link to change a contact.
  3. Add / change your contact as required.
  4. Click on the Submit button.
