This guide describes how end users can retrieve information relating a message's delivery. This enables them to confirm a message has been successfully delivered.

Displaying a Message's Delivery Receipt Status

Message Details

The following doesn't apply to message's sent securely via our Secure Messaging functionality.

To view the delivery receipt status of a message:

  1. Open your Mimecast for Outlook application.
  2. Click on your Online Sent Items folder.
  3. Click on a message. The message is displayed.
  4. Click on the Delivery Receipts Status drop down. A drop down displays the name and email address of each recipient.
  5. Click on the Delivery Status More Icon icon for the recipient whose message details you want to Message Detailsview..
  6. Click on the Details menu item. The Delivery Receipt Status dialog is displayed:
  7. If required, copy the details to your clipboard by clicking Copy Details to Clipboard from the:
    • Delivery Receipts Status dialog.
    • Menu displayed by clicking on the Status icon icon.

 

Displaying a Message's Delivery Status

 

To display if a message has been delivered to the recipient's mail server:

  1. Open your Mimecast for Outlook application.
  2. Click on your Online Sent Items folder.
  3. Click on a message. The message is displayed.
  4. Click on the Delivery Receipts Status drop down. A drop down displays the name and email address of each recipient.
  5. Click on the delivery icon icon. This indicates that the message has been successfully delivered to the recipient's mail server. It doesn't guarantee that the message has been delivered to the user. You can hover over the icon to display additional information (e.g. delivery method).

 

Mimecast for Outlook v7.2 and v7.3

 

To identify the delivery status of a message:

  1. Open your Mimecast for Outlook application.
  2. Click on your Online Sent Items folder.
  3. Click on a message. The message is displayed.
  4. Click on the Delivery Receipts Status drop down. This displays delivery information for each of the message's recipients. Additional information can be accessed by one of the icons mentioned below:

    Status iconClick on this icon to displays the delivery receipt status for the recipient. Click on the OK button to close the dialog.

    This icon indicates the message has been successfully delivered to the recipient's mail server. You can hover over the icon to display additional information (e.g. delivery method).

    This does not guarantee delivery to the user. It only indicates that the message has been accepted by their mail server.
